JJFC EDGE RAYMOND FC IN FIVE-GOAL THRILLER

JustJohn FC secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ramond FC in an entertaining NLO Division One encounter, producing a strong attacking display and showing resilience to withstand a late fightback from the visitors.

JJFC made the perfect start and took the lead in the 8th minute. The move began with a long kick from goalkeeper Ogundipe Odunayo. After Raymond FC failed to fully clear the danger, Mukaila showed great composure to beat his marker before finding Babatunde Raji. The winger drove into the penalty area and delivered a dangerous low ball across goal, causing confusion in Raymond FC defence. Osayi Joseph reacted quickest to the loose ball and calmly finished to give JJFC a deserved 1-0 lead.

The hosts doubled their advantage before the quater-hour mark. Following a foul on Tobi after a clever attacking move involving Babatunde Raji and Mukaila, JJFC earned a free kick in a promising position. Mukaila rolled the ball into the path of Babatunde Raji, who struck a superb effort beyond the goalkeeper in the 15th minute to make it 2-0.

Raymond FC responded midway through the first half. A long throw into the JJFC half eventually found its way to the visitors' right flank, where a dangerous cross into the penalty area was converted to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

Despite the setback, JJFC remained in control and restored their two-goal cushion just before the interval.

Following a drop-ball situation deep in the Raymond FC half, Mukaila quickly found Tobi in space. With options available around him, Tobi chose to back himself and unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area. His effort flew past the goalkeeper and into the net, giving JJFC a 3-1 lead moments before halftime.

The second half saw Raymond FC push forward in search of a way back into the contest. Their persistence paid off when they were awarded a penalty after an infringement inside the area. Raymond FC's number 21 converted from the spot to make it 3-2 and set up a tense finish.

The visitors continued to press for an equaliser in the closing stages, but JJFC defended resolutely and managed the game well under pressure. When the final whistle sounded, the hosts had secured all three points after an impressive display of attacking football and determination.
